Precinct Committee Officers Needed
Your help is urgently needed. Please consider being a Democratic PCO (precinct committee officer) for your precinct. We need your smarts, credibility, visibility, and passion to make things better through the political process. The opportunity (filing week) starts Monday, May 16, at 9 am and ends Friday, May 20, at 4 pm. (To see which precincts do not yet have a candidate, click here. The County Elections webpage has precinct maps.)
Being a PCO is by election - one files as a candidate through the county during the filing week window, online or in person. To file online, go to the Washington State File for Office site at https://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/candidates/online-candidate-filing.aspx. The site has additional information, such as the 2022 State Candidates Guide. To file in person, visit the County Auditor's office (315 W Main St #201, Walla Walla) between 9 am and 4 pm, May 16-20.
Being a PCO means you represent your precinct to the party and vice versa - you are the source of information about the party to your neighborhood. The PCOs meet the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm. They are hybrid meetings via Zoom and in person.
You aren't a PCO alone. PCOs are supported by a county-wide PCO Captain and Deputy Captain with orientation and information provided. You will enjoy being part of a committed, interesting, vital group of community leaders!
