Kamala and Carmela Ignite the Walla Walla Democrats
The September 10 Central Committee Meeting was a trifecta of exciting Democratic progress.
Leading off the meeting, our friend Carmela Conroy discussed her race against Michael Baumgartner for the Washington CD 5 House seat. Her presentation is in the video above.
Carmela worked as a Spokane County deputy prosecutor before serving as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State. Earlier this year, she finished a term as the chair of the Spokane County Democratic Central Committee.
Her top legislative priorities include affordable health care, economic prosperity for all, uplifting working families, and agricultural support. Conroy wants to invest in the local economy and raise the quality of life with clean energy and rural infrastructure.
In this campaign, Conroy has earned endorsements from labor unions, local Democratic organizations, teachers' unions, and several key elected Democrats. Conroy is an extraordinary choice as a Democrat with a community vision for Washington’s 5th Congressional District.
Carmela will return to Walla Walla on Tuesday, September 24, for the first of five debates with Baumgartner in the Fifth Congressional District before November 5.
Carmela’s presentation was followed by a short business meeting where we endorsed all Democratic candidates running for federal, state, and legislative races.
At the meeting’s conclusion, we watched the Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate. Kamala masterfully demonstrated her superior intelligence, vision, and morals compared to the twice-impeached, 34-count convicted felon, and worst president ever. You can watch or rewatch the entire debate here.
